Giving up smoking for women

I started smoking when I was 14 years old . I continued smoking for 40 years. We were not aware at that time the health risks. My reasons for giving up smoking are the price, health and its not socially acceptable.
I had chest pains, coughing headaches. I could not wear patches so when one of my Tafe teachers told me about a course for women which was free.
It was a six weeks course that is run by the health department. I started this so I had someone to talk to that was in the same situation as I was. You really need to have lots of will power and encouagement to succeed. I have not smoked know for six months and very proud of myself. The course was held at the Ribbonwood centre Dapto. The staff is very helpful and caring and also do everything in there power to assist you. One day a week for six weeks.
